چکیده

The compactness of a routing table is a complexity measure of the memory space needed to store the routing table on a network whose nodes have been labeled by integers. It is defined as the smallest integer k such that, in every node u, every set of labels of destinations having the same output in the table of u can be represented as the union of k intervals of consecutive labels. If lot of works were done to study the compactness of deterministic routing tables, few of them tackled the adaptive case when the output of the table, for each entry, must contain a fixed number α of routing directions. We prove that every n-node network supports shortest path routing tables of compactness at most n=α for an adaptiveness parameter α, whereas we show a lower bound of n=αO(1).

An Adaptive LEACH-based Clustering Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks

LEACH is the most popular clastering algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). However, it has two main drawbacks, including random selection of cluster heads, and direct communication of cluster heads with the sink. This paper aims to introduce a new centralized cluster-based routing protocol named LEACH-AEC (LEACH with Adaptive Energy Consumption), which guarantees to generate balanced cl...

A novel heuristic algorithm for capacitated vehicle routing problem

The vehicle routing problem with the capacity constraints was considered in this paper. It is quite difficult to achieve an optimal solution with traditional optimization methods by reason of the high computational complexity for large-scale problems. Consequently, new heuristic or metaheuristic approaches have been developed to solve this problem. In this paper, we constructed a new heuristic ...

Considering Production Planning in the Multi-period Inventory Routing Problem with Transshipment between Retailers

Generally, the inventory routing problem occurs in a supply chain where customers consider the supplier responsible for inventory replenishment. In this situation, the supplier finds the answer to questions regarding the time and quantity of delivery to the customer as well as the sequence of customers in the routes. Considering the effect of production decisions on answering these questions, t...

Supporting Fully Adaptive Routing in InfiniBand Networks

InfiniBand is a new standard for communication between processing nodes and I/O devices as well as for interprocessor communication. The InfiniBand Architecture (IBA) supports distributed routing. However, routing in IBA is deterministic because forwarding tables store a single output port per destination ID. This prevents packets from using alternative paths when the requested output port is b...

Congestion estimation of router input ports in Network-on-Chip for efficient virtual allocation

Effective and congestion-aware routing is vital to the performance of network-on-chip. The efficient routing algorithm undoubtedly relies on the considered selection strategy. If the routing function returns a number of more than one permissible output ports, a selection function is exploited to choose the best output port to reduce packets latency. In this paper, we introduce a new selection s...
